Here’s a rundown of the information shared during the Marvel Secret War panel today at Comic-Con.
- On the panel were Tom Brevoort, Jonathan Hickman, Josh Williamson, Charles Soule.
- We find out how Battleworld came to be in Secret Wars #5 when it arrives on August 12
- In Red Skull, readers find out how terrible and evil the Red Skull is. I’m gonna give you a hint right now – he’s a former Nazi… that should tell you everything you need to know.
- The Secret Wars: Civil War is all about Captain America never giving up the fight, which divided the country in half.
- Old Man Logan – if you didn’t already see the covers for the All-New All-Different Marvel, then you’ll be happy to know that Old Man Logan sticks around after the events of Secret Wars.
- A lot of the panel focused on titles that have already been solicited, already launched (1872 #1 arrived this week), or covers revealed. On the new comic front, Secret Wars: Agents of Atlas arrives in October.
- A number of books, realities, and characters never made it to the Secret Wars series; nearly twice as many concepts were pitched than have been announced/produced.
Moss also talked about “Ant-Man: Last Days,” saying that the series will follow Ant-Man performing a favor on the last days of Earth. “It’s a lot of fun to find out what she has him go do,” said Moss. “It’s a unique look at the last day before everything blows up. Ramon Rosanas does the art and there’s a lot of fun detail.”
As with many large scope panels, questions on individual events were passed off to the smaller panels, like the Bendis panel later in the convention.
Anything big and surprising from this panel? Not really, from my perspective, but perhaps something caught your eye?
