Marvel has announced that Kick-Ass #1 has sold out at the distributor level and will be going back to press.
What is Kick-Ass you ask?
Take a teenage boy, who loves comics, and who has recently lost his mother, throw in the notion that he wants to become a super hero in the real world, and you have Kick-Ass.
“Okay, first of all, this is insane,†said Millar. “Because our pre-orders were really, really high and I didn’t think for a minute these were going to even sell out, never mind sell out so quickly. But a hearty thanks from me and Johnny because we really love this book. It’s a very personal work and we’ve put out heart and soul into it. Seeing that excitement reach the readers is brilliant and we can only hope you enjoy the rest of the series as much. Fantastic Four #554 was one of the best received books of my career, but the response online to Kick-Ass #1 has actually topped it. Thanks a lot, folks.”
To be honest, this title completely slipped by my radar, but Matthew has read it, and will be reviewing it later today. I like the idea and the concept and knowing that it will be back in stock April 2, has me wanting to pick up a copy.

Wasn’t even going to buy it. Ended up laughing my @$$ of from cover to cover.
I loved this book. I went in expecting nothing but violence and blood and gore but as I started reading it Millar took me in a different direction and that was ok, but by the end of the book he slammed the gearshift in reverse and gave me whiplash.
I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series
