Remember the world before everything Lucas was sold to Disney, when Clone Wars was on TV? Well, you may also recall that LucasArts was in the process of developing the next video game set within the Star Wars mythos with Star Wars 1313. When the company was sold the game was scrapped and new projects were started. Concept art from the game has been revealed and now we can be doubly sad this game isn’t releasing.
Star Wars 1313 was to star bounty hunter Boba Fett in a third-person game as he explored the depths of what was underneath the city of Coruscant.
Here is what I hope now happens after seeing these concept art pieces. After the J.J. Abrams helmed Star Wars Episode VII was announced, rumors and talk of one-shot movies focusing on individual characters could be heard throughout the Internet. Maybe, just maybe, Star Wars 1313 was scrapped for the time being so that Disney and Lucas Films could take the concept and turn that into the Boba Fett film. Here’s to hoping because I want this space of the Star Wars Universe explored in a visual medium.

Honestly, I still have hope to some degree that some of this will be used in the future. There were plenty of scrapped ideas for various Star Wars projects that made their way into other projects, from video games to EU comics and novels and so on.
I’m still sad the game was scrapped, but I’m not quite ready to mourn the concepts just yet.
I would be very happy to see another Knights of the Old republic.
