Wizard World has announced it is launching a new comic book convention in Portland, Oregon.
The convention will take place February 22-24, 2013 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
“We are thrilled to be adding Wizard World Oregon Comic Con to our 2013 schedule of events and introduce a new region to our exciting shows,” said John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO. “The city of Portland and Oregon Convention Center are a great fit, and the timing is ideal on the convention calendar.”
The first guests signed for the show include artist Greg Horn, and actors Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, and David Della Rocco.
Wizard World stated that more guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

You know, they’ve announced all these new conventions yet, I haven’t seen one actually happen. Like Atlanta for instance, they announced that over a year ago and nothing since then.
Well, okay. Too bad it’s not at Eugene or Bend instead. The problem with these conventions is that it’s always required driving over a thousand miles to get to one of them. So now they have one that’s in Oregon. Yippee. Barely in Oregon. But Oregon larger than most of your Eastern states by far and Portland is barely in Oregon. So now I only have to drive 400 miles to get there. Yippee. With the price of gas, that’s still prohibitive, I’m sorry to say.
