I know a lot of people don’t make a big to do about the 100th episode of a podcast anymore, but we’re proud of the fact we’ve made it this far without killing anyone (that you know of), and tonight’s celebration is just the beginning of good things to come as the year continues to roll on.
Superheroes have always been the mainstay of Major Spoilers, and if you are going to have a party, why not have a bevy of superhero themed drinks to get the party started? As I started looking through the Intardwebz, I figured I would find a few drinks named after our favorite heroes, but I wasn’t prepared to find so many real drinks that are sure to get one a little tipsy.
The Incredible Hulk
Ingredients
- 2 oz Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum
- 1tbsp Sugar
- 2 L bottle of Mountain Dew
Add the Captain Morgan to a glass with sugar, then add Mountain Dew until the mix turns green.
I’m pretty sure you could rename this one a Green Lantern and no one would be the wiser. In fact, you can probably take any of the green colored drinks and give them a Hulk or Lantern name. So here’s my own take on the drink – add an orange slice on top and call it a Guy Gardner.
Iron Man Cocktail
Ingredients
- 3 oz Seagram 7
- 3 oz Vodka
- Soda Water
- Ice
Mix the Seagram 7 and vodka add ice cubes, then fill with soda water, and stir gently.
I hear this one has taste that burns all the way down, meaning you need to be an iron man in order to get through this one.
Hammer of Thor
Ingredients
- 4 oz Aristocrat Vodka
- 5 oz Cranberry Juice
- 3 oz Milwaukee’s Best Ice Lager
Stir in a highball glass, and swing away. Give about ten of these to your worst enemy and watch the hi-lar-ity ensue.
Beast Juice
Ingredients
- 2 oz White Rum
- 4 oz chilled Mountain Dew Code Red
- 4 oz chilled Red Bull energy drink
Stir and serve. Of course I have a different recipe for Beast Juice, but that is because I have a two-year old
Batman
Ingredients
- 6 oz Orange Juice
- 1/2 tsp Grenadine
- 1 Orange slice
Pour juice and grenadine into Collins glass that is filled with ice cubes. Stir well, and garnish with orange slice. I have no idea why they call this one a Batman, perhaps g-mo had a hand in making this one up?
Wonder Woman
Ingredients
- 2 oz Midori Melon Liquer
- 2 oz Peach Schnapps
- 3 oz Orange Juice
- 1 oz Pineapple Juice
- 2 oz Cranberry Juice
Layer ingredients in order in a hurricane glass, and serve unstirred for a pretty looking drink, just like the Amazon princess.
Superman
Ingredients
- 1 oz Gin
- 3/4 oz Dry Vermouth
- 1/2 oz Apricot Brandy
- 1 oz Mandarin Juice
- 1 tsp Grenadine Syrup
Mix ingredients and shake with a glassful of ice and pour into an old fashioned glass – because, you know, Superman is so old fashioned…
Green Lantern
Ingredients
- 1/3 part Midori Melon Liqueur
- 1/3 part fresh Orange Juice
- 1/3 part 7-Up
Mix ingredients in order, shake once, and pour into a hurricane glass.
Someone more daring than me should substitute the orange juice with lemon juice, and see if it works as a Sinestro.
Robin’s Nest
Ingredients
- 1 oz Vodka
- 1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao
- 1 oz Cranberry Juice
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into cocktail glass.
This is the only drink on the list I’ve had. That night was also filled with fuzzy navels, grasshoppers, slippery nipples, and a whole lotta blackness, followed by a morning of wondering what went on the night before, so I can’t really say if this was a super drink or not.
Arm Fall Off Boy
Ingredients
- One can of Busch Light
Open can and drink.
Seems the worst character of all time, deserves the worst beer of all time. Zing!
NOTE: This list is not meant to encourage drinking, or to get minors to dive into mom and dad’s liquor cabinet and party like it’s 1999 all over again. In the U.S. you need to be 21 in order to drink. We at Major Spoilers know how to have a good time, and we want you to have a good time too, so please drink responsibly.

you gonna have some of those tonight??
I wonder if the Batman, isn’t actually a reference to the older meaning of batman, a sort of butler to Military officers.
