I just started the episode, but does anyone ever call Matthew out on the fact that the Comic Book Men treated the All Star 8 with the utmost care? They refused I even take it out of its Mylar bag. No one slammed it on the counter at all.
Also, that the first appearance of wonder woman is in fact All Star 8 and not Sensation 1?

You are correct in that I did transpose the All-Star #8 appearance with the Sensation #1. I had reversed the order of the books, thinking All-Star was out in January 42, rather than vice versa.
My point is that what you described seeing is not what happened on the show. They were very respectful in handling the book, and the book was clearly an issue of All Star, not the iconic Sensation #1.

There is, in my eyes, a difference between being awed by the book and being sufficiently respectful of its age and nature. The first was present, the second was not. Eye of the beholder and all that…
