Kyle Higgins, Alex Siegel, and Rod Reis’ C.O.W.L. series is 10 years old, and to celebrate the series is coming back with C.O.W.L.: 1964, a new mini-series at Image Comics.
“Returning to C.O.W.L. is very special for me,” said Higgins in a press release from Image Comics. “The series’ origins date back to my college thesis film, The League, and before that to the short story I wrote that got me into film school. It’s something that’s been with both Alec and myself for a long time. When Alec, Rod and I started this book In 2014, the idea of building it to be a part of a something larger wasn’t something that we thought we would ever be able to do. Now, as we come back to finish the core story, we’ll also be setting the stage for the future of C.O.W.L. and in some ways, The Massive-Verse.”
It’s 1964, and C.O.W.L.—the Chicago Organized Workers League, the world’s first superhero labor union—is going national! But with the old team scattered and powerful forces moving in the shadows, will this union be busted before it gets off the ground?
C.O.W.L.: 1964 #1 (of 3) arrives on August 14, 2024.
