Armor Wars Will be a Movie
After years of having Academy Award Nominee Don Cheadle in the role of James “Rhodey” Rhodes (a.k.a. War Machine), Marvel Studios acquiesced and announced Armor Wars for an upcoming Disney+ series. Following this year’s D23 Expo there was a suspicious lack of announcements surrounding Armor Wars, Don Cheadle, War Machine, or Rhodey in general and fans of the MCU portrayal of the character it seemed the possibility of a Rhodey-centric narrative may have passed us by.
UNTIL THIS WEEK!
Yesterday The Hollywood Reporter broke the news Armor Wars is not, in fact, dead and will be coming to the big screen rather than the small screen.
They saliently point out:
This is not the first time Marvel has pivoted the development of a title in this way. Hawkeye was originally conceived as a feature before the executive team decided to turn the idea into a Disney+ series. To date, Marvel has released all of its films in theaters.
Confirming the following details about Armor Wars:
Marvel Studios has shaken up its Armor Wars project, and now what was to have been a series for Disney+ will be redeveloped as a feature film.
The move essentially pushes back the title further down the development slate.
Sources say the studio was committed in getting the story told the right way and in that process realized that a feature was better suited for the project. Like all Marvel movies, it is intended for a theatrical release.
Which ultimately reveals nothing about the movie. Don Cheadle will return as Rhodey and is inspired, at least in title only, by the Armor Wars storyline from the 1980s Iron Man storyline when Rhodey was inside the suit having taken on the mantle of Iron Man.

Confirming actor Hugh Jackman would be reprising his role as Wolverine (for the last time, no really the last time, after the last last last last time), in the upcoming Disney produced Deadpool 3.
The video confirms Deadpool 3 will release September 6th, 2024.

Community is Getting its Movie
“Six seasons and a movie” was the refrain of the hit comedy series Community. Despite a network shift and marked decline in the final seasons of the show complete with cast changes this morning the news broke that the “and a movie” part is coming to streaming after all:

With the official Twitter account confirming:
IT’S HAPPENING! SIX SEASONS AND A MOVIE! on Twitter: “you got your movie. now stop yelling at me. / Twitter”
you got your movie. now stop yelling at me.
Said Susan Rovner, chairman, entertainment content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming:
“‘Six seasons and a movie’ started out as a cheeky line from ‘Community’s early seasons and quickly ignited a passionate fan movement for this iconic, hilarious and cool (cool, cool) NBC comedy. We’re incredibly grateful that 15 years later, we are able to deliver fans this promised movie and can’t wait to get to work with Dan Harmon, Andrew Guest, Joel McHale, Sony and our partners at UTV to continue this epic comedy for Peacock audiences.”
But Variety points out there are still a lot of loose ends to tie up:
Without sharing specifics, Peacock and Sony Pictures TV, which jointly announced the greenlight on Friday, described the negotiations for Peacock to secure the movie as “heavily competitive.” As part of the deal, Peacock has also acquired non-exclusive rights to the full six-season “Community” library, which can also be found on Netflix and Hulu.
… and …
Further details — including a director and an estimated premiere date — have not yet been shared. Also unanswered is whether other key “Community” cast members, including Yvette Nicole Brown and Donald Glover, might still make an appearance — or at least a cameo. (It’s probably safe to say Chevy Chase, who had a falling out with the show and whose character eventually died, won’t be back.)
As more details come to light about the Community film project it will be interesting to note fans reactions amidst all the excitement swirling across social media today.
