Scream Releases It’s 5th Installment
Speaking of reimaginings of characters genre watchers love … the fifth Scream movie hit cinemas everywhere tomorrow after a legacy of delays like so many other movies since 2020 threw schedules into a tailspin.
Scream | Official Trailer (2022 Movie)
Do you like scary movies? Watch the NEW trailer for #ScreamMovie, only in theatres January 14, 2022.Get tickets now at ScreamMovie.com Twenty-five years afte…
The movie welcomes back original cast members: Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette to explore where Sidney and her surviving friends have been this whole time and how the emergences of Ghostface to terrorize a new crop of young folks will be different in a world dominated by cell phone.
Scream is the latest iconic slasher franchise to revive itself by having the original cast meet up with a cast of younger actors ready to launch the franchise into the brave new world of the streaming era. Michael Meyers fans have seen Hallowe’en do this twice over already. Only time will tell if, much like Hallowe’en and Hallowe’en Kill, Scream will dive head first into a full trilogy based on the success of this January opening.
Early in the year openings used to be looked at as the kiss of death for genre movies, but the success of Captain America: the Winter Soldier and Deadpool changed the game.
Morbius Release Date Pushed Back Again (and Again, and Again, and Again …)
Last week the geek entertainment sphere suffered another setback. Spider-Man spinoff Morbius starring Jared Leto has been pushed back weeks from it’s January release date.
Variety reported Morbius now enjoys an April 1st, 2022 release date. No, it’s not a joke. As far as we know. In the wake of Spider-Man: No Way Home’s runaway success you may find it surprising Sony wouldn’t want to expand their side of the universe as quickly as possible.
Leto’s not-quite-a-vampire-hybrid is joined by fellow cast members Matt Smith (Last Night in Soho, Doctor Who), Adria Arjona (True Detective, Pacific Rim: Uprising), Michael Keaton (Birdman, Spider-Man: Homecoming), Jared Harris (The Expanse, Chernobyl), Al Madrigal (The Way Back, I’m Dying Up Here), and Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious, Star).
Morbius is now scheduled to hit cinemas on April 1.
The Batman Releases Duet Teaser Trailer
The Batman’s official Twitter account shared a new teaser trailer:
The Batman on Twitter: “The Bat and the Cat are one helluva duet. See them only in theaters March 4. #TheBatman pic.twitter.com/QcfrtwglLv / Twitter”
The Bat and the Cat are one helluva duet. See them only in theaters March 4. #TheBatman pic.twitter.com/QcfrtwglLv
It’s much more in line with their Bat & Cat trailer focusing closely on the relationship between Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne than previously trailers which have chosen to highlight the multiple members of Batman’s Rogues Gallery who are appearing in the movie. Fans familiar with Reeves’ stated comic book influences will notice shades of Year One all the way up to Hush in these 30 seconds.
Unlike Morbius, The Batman retains its previous release date of March 4. I would love to read your thoughts on this teaser in the comments. If I missed any Easter Eggs, please let me know!
