You Kids Today have things pretty good in the whole “guys fighting in supersuits on the big screen” arena, which totally makes up for the state of the world, perhaps. My first superhero movie was Walt Disney’s Condorman, a flick which still sort of holds up (as Patreon members who have downloaded the Bonus Tracks will probably tell you.) Still, even growing up with The Hulk, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman on TV, I do sort of envy the generation who will tell their kids about seeing Infinity War when they were six, because they won’t have to prevaricate as to the quality of the material like we did with Alec Baldwin’s The Shadow or Jim Carrey’s The Mask, leading to today’s live-action query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) can’t wait for people to tell me The Avengers, after which I shall crumble to the ancient dust which comprises my bones, asking: What film was YOUR first superhero movie?

Probably one of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies on tv (most likely 2), but the most impactful one was definitely the ’89 Batman.
Definitely “Superman: The Movie” live in the theater. I did believe a man could fly.
Its impossible to remember a film, but first super hero show and when I first understood the concept in general was either He-Man or Ultraman. First one I remember expecting and being hyped about was Batman 1989.
Ya…. I think I am going to have to go with Superman as well. I know I saw it in the theater.
The original Star Wars before it was a new hope was also in there if you consider jedi to be super anything.
but I can’t remember anything before that.
I know I have seen doc savage but i just don’t remember when……

I think the first time I saw a superhero was a broadcast of the 1960’s Spiderman on a 13 inch black and white TV. I don’t remember much of it otherwise.
