I recently re-read Bill Willingham’s Pantheon, a story that featured some really impressive superhero code names, a kid powered by the writings of Robert E. Howard, and a team with the incredibly cool sobriquet of The Darkside Rangers. It also had man-eating cats that were dubbed “toogers,” a contraction of toothy tigers, which may be the worst name I’ve ever read in a comic book (and I’ve heard of Karb-Brak.) Still, I wondered if Faithful Spoilerites could come up with something even worse, leading to today’s aliased Query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds everyone to keep it in the realm of the fictional, as real people’s names aren’t fair game, asking: What’s the WORST name in all of pop culture?

The Whizzer is a classic example of poorly considered codenames, but for my money it’s not even the worst name for a speedster in comics, not when the uber-clunky “Reverse-Flash” is out there.
You got me with Whizzer. And I’ve always thought Reverse-Flash is a pinnacle of unimagination. Yeah, that’s a word.
