    For years, I quietly harbored a crush on Scarlett from G.I. Joe, thanks to her fully painted card art.  (I was a nerdy child, yes.  Shut up.)  Recently, her place as Cutest Fictional Character has been taken by Melissa Benoist’s live-action Supergirl, whose series cancellation is one of the minor bummers that came out of the train wreck that was the year 2020.  Whether it’s the writing, the actor’s charisma or a mélange of both, TV Kara is bulletproof AND adorable, leading to today’s blushing query…

    The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds everyone, as always, to keep things family-friendly, asking: Which fictional character is The Cutest?

    Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

      Ever since the devastating soul-break of Chloe Sullivan, I refuse to put my crush-heart out in the universe again. Bah!

      Okay, fine, it’s currently the 13th Doctor, with her little nose-scrunch. There’s no logicking shut the crush-heart.
