As often happenes, the opening of a new drive-through restaurant in town (a Culver’s, in case you are curious) has both messed up traffic on one of our major thoroughfairs and reminded me how good fried cheddar cheese curds are. Indeed, having mostly given up on fast food beef, the side items are the big selling point for me. A good french fry is a winner, but either cheese curds or onion rings are a slamdunk, especially if they’re good onion rings. Kansas may lack in some areas, but one thing we always get right are things fried in batter, leading to today’s state fairgrounds query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds Faithful Spoilerites that “Neither” is both a complete bummer and not generally an allowed response to the MS-QOTD, asking: When it comes to deep-fried treats, would you rather have cheese curds or onion rings?

I’m not a huge fan of either of those, but can I pick a third deep fried fairground treat?
If so – Corn Dogs.
Onion rings.
Why would you make me choose :-(
