It’s another great Kickstarter doubleheader this week in Episode 435!
We start things off with a fun conversation with Barb Kaalberg from the fascinating comic Divinity from Silverline Comics. There’s a Kickstarter underway for this debut issue, which is described this way: “Eleven year old Divinity Gray’s life changes forever after the suspicious death of her parents. Marine Sgt. Zach Gray, the older brother she barely knows, becomes her guardian, but when he discovers Divinity’s mysterious healing powers, their lives take a dangerous turn. With the help of a few friends, Zach and Divinity must go on the run to keep Divinity–and her powers–out of the hands of an evil cabal.” We talk about the series, why this comic shows that Barb is more than just a terrific inker, and what she has in store for us in the months ahead! We also touch on the other book included in this Kickstarter, which is Twilight Grimm #1, so be sure to support this great pairing today!
Then everything concludes with my great conversation with Jonathan Hedrick from Freakshow Princess and Capable! Jonathan has a Kickstarter happening right now to support issues #1 and #2 of Capable, so we talk about how these books were created, who the characters are, and what Jonathan has coming, including a just-announced series from Scout Comics called The Recount! Here’s how Capable is described: “Derik Davidson is just your average high school kid. He’s shy, awkward, bullied, and he happens to use a wheelchair. But suddenly Derik’s world turns upside down when he wakes up with the power of super speed! What will Derik do with this new power and who else has become super capable?” Be sure to support this high-power project as soon as you listen to this episode!
