It’s the 80th Anniversary of The Flash, and I’m really excited that DC is admitting to the existence of Jay Garrick, the original and greatest Flash of them all, especially after years of sidelining and repeatedly retiring him. With the Justice Society maybe/sorta/kinda existing again, it’s only natural that Jay return, and even though I’m not happy with what they’re going with him, Wally West is back in action as well. Still, even having the three longest-serving Flashes back in action, we haven’t even scratched the surface of the available lightning-riders in the DC Universe, leading to today’s fastest query alive…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) has a bias for Jay Garrick, not just because of his styhlin’ helmet, but because of his role throughout the 90s as elder statesman and teacher, asking: Which Scarlet Speedster is the Greatest Flash of them all?

Since my first major interaction with the Flash was via the Justice League cartoon, I’m partial to Wally West.
Whichever one it was that saved every one of us. The savior of the Universe. That one.
To me, the first one. Justice Society in general is superior to any “current day” DC team.
Barry Allen. I remember reading the Trial of the Flash srotyline in the 80’s. That’ and Geoff John’s’ run cemented him as my favorite.
Hooray! Helmet heads for lyfe!
Best Flash? John Fox, hands down.
I’m going to say Jay Garrick, but I *do* have a soft spot for Quicksilver/Max Mercury.
