The thing about video games is, they’re hard to keep up with. I know that there’s an online ‘Contest of Champions‘ game featuring heroes of the Marvel U, which theoretically would allow me to finally set up that Captain Ultra/Wonder Man slugfest I’ve been wondering about since the late 1970s, but I still wonder what other potential fighting game options there are out there. As a fan of ‘Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe’ (with the exception of the fact that they added a bunch of armored gewgaws to The Flash and, y’know, the confolutions of plot necessary to make it happen) it might be interesting to see all the Legion of Super-Heroes characters able to face off or perhaps every Power Ranger ever? The mind boggles, leading to today’s hand-to-hand query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is torn between The Legion and the idea that a fighting game is completely against the concept of the Legion, asking: What existing cast of characters would make the most interesting potential fighting game?

Most of the good ones have already been made, but a good, modern fighting game with Kaiju/Ultraman/Toku characters would be great. Whole thing with big maps, collapsing buildings and all that stuff could be made with modern systems and decent budget. It would be glorious.
Some part of me thinks that a Smurfs fighting game would be bizarrely fun.
What about one based on the huge catalog of Hannah Barbara properties?
