In a world where so much of our day-to-day life is impacted by pop culture, it’s always fun when our favorite fictional friends share our experiences. The show-within-a-show is a time-tested way of making our imaginary friends feel like our real ones, be it Bart Simpson’s fave-rave Radioactive Man, Rusty Venture’s childhood cartoon series (the lunchbox is still in high demand) or the wild and wacky Alan Brady show, there are tons of made-up things to love, leading to today’s metafictional query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) thinks that the fact that we only get bits and pieces makes things like Joey Tribbiani’s legendary sitcom flop ‘Mac & C.H.E.E.S.E. seem more impressive’.asking: What’s the coolest show-within-a-show of all time?

The coolest is absolutely the Brown Hornet from inside the world of Fat Albert. Itchy and Scratchy make an honorable mention second.
(Although, I’m surprised that you didn’t mention the Robin Sparkles show Space Teens from How I Met Your Mother.)
I wanted people to be able to choose it. And I preferred ‘Sandcastles In The Sand.’
Also The Simpsons, but the entire McBain saga.
Gekiganger III – The Voltron/Battle of the planets style anime everyone was obesessed with in Martian Successor Nadesico.
While maybe not the best show within a show by itself, the fandom of it was so integrated into the main show that you couldn’t help but love it.
