Recently, a film-maker/blowhard of some note started a controversy by claiming that their take on a particular fictional character is the only correct one and that anyone who disagrees is wrong and bad. (The fun part is, that sentence is pretty much always true in some corner of our favorite pop culture, so there’s no need to even call out the particulars.) I’ve noticed a lot of controversial back-and-forth on his premise in my social media though, which proves that the idea of a Killer Batman is one that is very fraught for many of us, leading to today’s fatal query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds Faithful Spoilerites that there are no wrong answers in the MS-QOTD, even if certain folk seem to think differently, asking: In your personal canon, do you prefer a Killer Batman or a Non-Killer Batman?

I like Comics Code censored Batman or TV Batman because I find them the most creative and imaginative. So I guess that means No Kill I.
Non kill.
Batman does not kill.
Anybody who is unable to muster enough creativity to craft a Batman story without having him cavalierly resort to murder with firearms doesn’t deserve my consumer dollars.
The director in question is sounding a lot like JK Rowling, except he didn’t create the properties.
As to the question, Batman should not kill.
Batman should not kill. It’s one of the character’s defining traits. That blowhard “filmmaker” is a class-A moron.
