This past weekend, the first Aquaman trailer arrived, and everyone seems split on the initial look at the flick. Some think the movie feels a bit too dark and brooding and full of the same problems the Justice League suffered from, while others think this is a good step in the right direction for Warner Bros. DC movies.

Uninspired quips and CG fights… I’d say this is more of the same. It looks about as interesting as the Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern.
Tonally it seems to be fine, but I’m scared by the amount of CGI that seems to be on this movie given the horrible CGI we got on Justice League
There seemed to be a lot of bad guys in the trailer. I hope it doesn’t get too convoluted, but it seemed a step in the right direction.
In the early parts of the trailer it looks like the same grim and gritty of “Man of Steel”, “Batman V Superman”, and even “Justice League”. There were also flashes where it looks like we are moving away from the grimness to a lighter tone. So on the whole I would say it is a step forward-a tiny step, but still a step forward.
