    In today’s world, every new concept, movie, book or show seems to bear a resemblance to something we’ve already seen. Of course, if you’ve been a nerd for a while, that’s no surprise. Welcome to Ten Things: Ten Reimagined Supers!

    Whooshman-Bicarbonate Films, in conjunction with An Amateur Comics Historian and that time Supergirl was a grade-schooler with a cosmic skateboard, Presents:

    TEN THINGS: TEN REIMAGINED SUPERS!

    10) THE SIGNAL

    After years stalking the night with brightly colored Robins by his side, Batman decided to change things up. Duke Thomas (who was part of the Robin army in ‘We Are Robin’) joined the Bat-Family to handle matters during the daylight hours, but taking a role similar to Robin’s. Duke represents an upgrade from the usual Batman sidekick not only because he has metahuman powers, but because his costume includes armor and a crash helmet, upgrading from Dick Graysons leotard and pixie boots.

    Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.
