Still in an October Halloween vibe (thanks to Zach On Film), I’ve been thinking about the archetypes of the holiday. There’s the scary ghost, the skeleton, even the Dracula, but for some reason for which is one of my favorites. But which witch? Zatanna Zatara? Wanda Maximoff? The one who wanted to eat Bugs Bunny? So many choices, so little time, but a perfect lead-in to today’s eldritch query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) has to go with the classic mystic mother-in-law, Endora from ‘Bewitched’, if only for Agnes Moorehead’s eye makeup, asking: Which witch is the best witch of ’em all?

Sabrina. I loved original Sabrina comics (which lie somewhere between Green Acres and a Dada poem on the surrealism scale) but I will always have space in my heart for Little Sabrina.
I guess for me it is much like Dr. Who where your first Doctor is always the best doctor, so my first witch is the best witch. Winner and reigning champion is the witch from Hansel & Gretel – a pre-school play which I participated in at the ripe age of 4 years old.
