    Our various fictions are full of devastating combat pairings:  Mal and Jayne.  Ultra Boy and Mon-El.  Joaquin and Manolo.  And nobody wants to cross swords, literally OR figuratively, with Black Canary and The Huntress.  But the real test of any fighting team is simple.  Are they more awesome than the One-Two Punch of V.I.N.Cent and B.O.B. going head-to-head with a literal army of automatons in a running battle through the U.S.S. Cygnus, leading to today’s fighty-fighty query…

    The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) could make a case for the surprisingly effective duo of Templeton “Faceman” Peck and ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock of The A-Team, asking: Which fictional pair delivers the most devastating one-two punch of all?

    Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now...
