Thought Batman himself draws upon the influences of the earlier Zorro, The Shadow and maybe even a little of the Scarlet Pimpernel, depending on whose watching, but the characters he himself has influenced are Legion. With the exception of Superman himself, no hero has more member in their Legion of Substitutes, and even the likes of the Shi’ar Imperial Guard has their pseudo-Batman character. Maybe it’s the scalloped cape, maybe it’s the unstoppable demeanor, maybe it’s the car. I hear chicks dig the car. Whatever it is, though, that certain je ne sais quoi leads us to today’s dark night query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is torn between The Midnighter and Moon Knight, especially Moon Knight in his new three-piece suit look, asking: Who’s the best tribute, knockoff, analogue or pseudo-Batman of them all?

Duck Avenger, Donald Duck’s alter ego of Italian origin. Way more popular in Europe than U.S. One could argue he’s more like Zorro or the Shadow but they all come from same place so it counts.
