5) THE END OF TWO ATLANTEANS’ STORIES
In one of my favorite comics crossovers and comics coincidences, writer Steve Skeates managed to create one of the more subtle crossovers in history. In Aquaman #56, the final issue of his Silver Age run, Aquaman blew up a satellite in a very anticlimactic final page scene. A couple of years later, Skeates was now writing the adventures of the OTHER King Of Atlantis at Marvel, and began the final issue of Namor’s solo book at the point where Arthur’s had ended, with Aquaman’s glove pushing the same button to start the story, as seen in a long-ago Retro Review. This particular psuedo-crossover doubles as an Easter egg, as Skeates makes no overt reference to Aquaman, but clearly intends for the connect to be there.
