5) ZIPMAN
The super-identity of underground comics personage, Zippy The Pinhead, Zipman is a strange example. Zippy himself has gone from the underground to the mainstream, with his own syndicated comic strip and half a dozen different origins stories… For all his appearances and accomplishments, Zippy’s greatest and most heroic achievement is probably angering Dilbert’s creator, a truly heroic feat indeed. Not bad for a character created as a one-time reference to Tod Browning’s ‘Freaks.’
