I admit it, Faithful Spoilerites: I loved the Supergirl crossover episode. The interactions of a temporarily misfiled Flash with a hopeful, upbeat Supergirl really made me happy, even as I wonder if the upcoming movie hero battles are for me. Even with the positive feedback from the ZoF team, Zack Snyder’s epic explosion-fight feels daunting to me as a viewer who enjoy a nice Super-Goof or Unca Scrooge story, leading to today’s heart-and/or-darkness query…
The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) reminds Faithful Spoilerites that there is never a wrong answer, nor a hierarchy of which is better with our MS-QOTD, asking: Given the choice between darkness and light, would you prefer more ‘Batman V Superman’ or more ‘Supergirl/Flash’-style tales?

It depends on two things, my mood and quality of the story told. I like both kind of stories, depending of what I’m looking for in that occasion. Also, good story is a good story. In the end, it comes to the question if I liked it. If the answer is yes, I’m happy either way.
I usually go for the more light stories.
Supergirl/Flash
Light, definitely. We’ve had a grouchy Batman for 30 years, surely he can understand by now that he can enjoy stopping superbads instead of loathing it.
I’ll have to go with Flash/Supergirl on this one, given that it’s the only correct answer. I have no love for anything Zack Snyder touches – just not my cup of tea. Plus, I like the Flash more than Arrow, so I suppose the lighter stories appeal to me more at the moment.
As for Light vs Dark… It’s purely contextual. I prefer Lunar themes to Solar ones, but am not fond of your usual denizens of the dark (Vamps, Demons, etc), and would side with the light in that case. Besides, I rather like the idea of Light and Dark as representing two contrasting ideals, but not necessarily being at war with one another. Nothing is better than when two sides of a coin join forces, you know?
