Since it was first announced that Martin Freeman would appear in Captain America: Civil War, there has been a ton of speculation on what Marvel character Freeman would play. Well, now we know…
Empire magazine revealed that Martin Freeman will play Everett Ross in the film.
In comics, Ross works for the U.S. State Department as an escort to foreign diplomats. When assigned to escort T’Challa (aka the Black Panther) during a visit to the United States, everything changed for Ross.
According to Empire “It’s a role that obviously brings Freeman into Black Panther’s (Chadwick Boseman) world and makes Freeman a safe bet to be get a broader role in the standalone Black Panther movie. In Civil War he’s part of the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre.”
With Sharon Carter also appearing in the image along with German S.W.A.T., things are going to get really interesting for Steve Rogers.
Is this good news for Marvel movie fans, or does Freeman’s role simply make a lot of sense considering Black Panther is appearing in Captain America: Civil War?
