Marvel has been teasing us this week about the return of the Thunderbolts, and now we know when the first issue arrives.
The Thunderbolts will return in May as an ongoing series written by Jim Zub with art by Jon Malein.
From the ashes of AVENGERS: STANDOFF, the Winter Soldier assembles the original Thunderbolts – Moonstone, the Fixer, MACH-V, Atlas and a mysterious new character for a dangerous new mission. One that will put them at the forefront and in the crosshairs of the Marvel Universe!
It all kicks off in Avengers: Standoff this Spring, which will lead to the series in May.
“Doing the right thing is different than being good,” said writer Jim Zub in a prepared statement. “We’ve assembled a potent mix of characters to explore with big drama, big action and unexpected twists along the way. The new team is stacked with powerful personalities and a mission that’s going to tear them up and get right to their core. I’m excited about putting them in tough spots and letting the sparks fly.”

OOOOH, Thunderbolts are GO!
I’m actually really excited for this one. I hate how much of my personal market share Marvel is commanding.
At first this was a solid ‘maybe’ for me, but I didn’t know it was being written by Jim Zub. Now that I know that, it’s a must read.
