[Video] Legends of Tomorrow Episode 1 – Easter Eggs and Review!

   Thanks for the eastereggs Jason, and please keep doing those reviews with Ashley Victoria, I love them. But I have a completely different view from on this episode.

   I felt that most character intro felt forced. Heatwave and Captain cold where great, but all the rest where a bit looking like: “oh, right, we need to introduce those characters. So let them tell their story in 2 min and have them run around without any link to the story and not really explain who everyone is”. If I remember, the last time we saw White Canary she just ran away after trying to kill her familly, but now she’s all friendly with her sister. And why does Stein” I’m the voice of reason and wisdom for firestorm”, is a jerk in this show? Is it that because he’s old nobody will complain that he just kidnapped someone? The Flash backdoor intro from Arrow was so great, I was hoping they wouldn’t waste time since people who will watch this most likely watch The Flash and Arrow already. We already had a 2 hours intro into Hawkman and Hawkgirl, not 2 months ago. Did we really need another 15 min of the same back story?

   I think the time master looked too much like the Guardians of the universe (not like the timelord): yeah, we are all powerful, and the planet is in ruin, but let’s just be jerks and listen to Hal Jordan… erg, Rick Hunter do a boring speech. Anyway we are so powerful, that the guy who “controls” the planet (yet walk around to kill people, since he’s not busy managing anything) won’t come destroy us. I was expecting a blue head to be seen in the background or a green light from a ring.

   About Rick: why did he lock the ship for Jackson, but not the 3 criminals on board? What about when he mentioned that some important events in history (death) cannot be changed? But hey, let’s somehow stop Vandal Savage… without altering the past, because you can’t change it? It makes for a great story but really kills the entire shows concept.

   But what I really really didn’t like: 1- the Atom Repulsor. He already looks like ironman; did his laser have to sound like it? And 2- We got no idea what’s motivating Vandal Savage: what’s the point in world” domination” if there is nothing to rule over? Then again, he doesn’t seem to interest in ruling, more in walking in junk and shooting people (nukes, gun, whatever does the trick)

   It wasn’t all bad, I do agree the interaction between Palmer and Stein was fun, and we know why they don’t just go back to the time Vandal got his power (otherwise it would be a really short season) . Wenthon Miller and Dominic Purcell where amazing as always: I would love watching a show with just those two interacting. The problem is, after two incredible shows ( Arrow and The Flash) and a good one (Supergirl), I expect more from the producers/creator. I had some really high hope for this show. Maybe, as you said, it should have been 2 hours. I will give the show a chance, but the next episodes will be sitting on my dvr for a while, instead of getting me to endure ads like The Flash and Arrow do.

   (Btw did I miss something or did no one brought any luggage on this trip when they go on the waverider, yet all had their suits and equipment? )

   (end of rant. wow it was a long one) please don’t see this as a critic of your work ! I love your videos !

   Awesome review Jason and I also feel like you that the premiere episode should have been longer. It almost felt as if they made a two hour show and CW ordered it broken down.

   You forgot to mention that when Rip is categorizing Vandal Savage among histories notorious dictators, he mentions JSA villain Per Degaton as well. Let’s hope that means we see more of Earth 2 in this series
