On January 1, 2016, DC Comics fans nationwide will be asked to take sides when it comes to breakfast. In celebration of a robust new partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, General Mills is launching two new DC Comics Super Hero cereals and asking fans to join team Batman and/or team Superman.
Two unique cereal flavors will set the stage for the release: Batman Chocolate Strawberry and Superman Caramel Crunch. With newly designed packaging, the cereals will go head-to-head in breakfast aisles nationwide this winter.
To get in on the fun, fans are being asked to share a picture of their breakfast, declaring which Super Hero side they¹re on with the hashtags #batmancereal or #supermancereal. Those staying neutral at breakfast time and opting to enjoy then both can also participate with the hashtag #superheroescereal. General Mills wants us all to know: Breakfast doesn¹t have to be boring, and Batman and Superman are here to save the day, one bowl of cereal at a time.
But the fun doesn¹t end there. From January 8-10, General Mills will appear at New Orleans Wizard World Comic Con to introduce comic fans to these delicious new cereals. Comic Con attendees can pledge their allegiance to either Batman or Superman by having their photo taken in front of a hi-tech green screen and sharing it with their social media followers in the form of an animated gif.
Which side will you take at the breakfast table?
Batman Chocolate Strawberry and Superman Caramel Crunch will be available in stores nationwide, beginning January 1, 2016.
³Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice² comes to theaters March 25, 2016
