BOOM! Studios has announced that Kyle Higgins will write the upcoming Power Rangers series for the publisher.
It’s been a while since BOOM! Studios made the announcement that the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers was headed to our local comic book stores, and for the longest time I thought the series had been moved to the back burner. Today, BOOM! Studios made it clear that MMPR is definitely coming and Kyle Higgins of Batman Eternal and Nightwing fame is making it happen.
I can’t talk about @PowerRangers too much just yet, but it’s def a gig I’m thrilled about. We’re going to have a lot of fun #GoGoGreenRanger

No artist has been named, but in an Entertainment Weekly article, it looks like the first issue (a zero issue) will feature a backup story by Mairghread Scott with art by Daniel Bayliss.
I’m pretty sure I can hear the “sqee” from the other side of the state right…. now.
Until January, you’ll have to satisfy yourself with these cover images.

I might have to move these from my “buy if I see them” list to my “definitely get them” list just to see how the story plays out. I’m not super familiar with Higgins, but his works I have read were pretty fun.
