I love making things with my 3D printer, but I haven’t had the time to really design something uber cool. For several years, Hector N Gama has been designing a 3D rendition of the 1989 Batmobile, and now that he has access to a printer, he’s printed a wonderful piece of geek memorabilia.
The journey to making this masterpiece kicked off years ago, when Hector gathered high resolution images and plans and started modeling the vehicle in 3D Studio Max. With years of constant tweaks it was only a matter of time before the cost of entry for 3D printers got low enough to make this beauty a reality.
Gama printed his Batmobile on the Airwolf 3D XL 3D printer, and needed to be printed in multiple pieces because car ended up being 30-inches in length. Gama then tweaked the car with LED lights to make this masterpiece.
Right now everyone is hoping that Gama will release the STL files for free so we can all print our own Batmobile, because we all want to be like Batman.
