Agent Carter has finished airing on ABC leaving fans of the show looking to the next year and the next season with varying theories and hopes on where the first lady of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will go next and who she’ll beat up along the way. Bearing that in mind, Major Spoilers presents Top 5 Thing Agent Carter Season 2 Predictions!
The list below may contain spoilers to the events of Agent Carter season 1, so if you haven’t watched it yet, you may want to bookmark this page and come back later.
#5. ROMANCE
Pretty early on in season 1 the writers established that Agent Sousa (Enver Gjokaj), has feelings for Peggy (Hayley Atwell), and in the series closing moments it seems that she may be entertaining the notion of stepping out with the only other agent at SSR who suffers a modicum of the abuse that she does. While an injection of romance may not be a wholly original choice – or even a particularly good one for a show that purports to be about a woman who can stand on her own – it seems very likely to crop up.
#4. A TIME JUMP
I don’t mean of six months or even a year. Agent Carter would be a truly outstanding vehicle for Marvel to hop from time period to time period touching everything from fashion to ethics to equality AND introduce some other characters that may have origins in these specific decades. I’m predicting that each time period will jump forward a decade.
#3. MORE BLACK WIDOWS
All of the Black Widows! An army of Black Widows! All coming after Peggy Carter!
#2. TONY’S MUM
In addition to the expectation that Peggy will get her shot at romance it seems likely that Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), is headed for a patch of growing up. The best vehicle for this that would also keep Iron Man fans satiated would be the introduction of Maria Stark and the beginning of her romance with Howard.
#1. THE NAME SHIELD
Despite the fact that it has been stated that Agent Carter will not deal with the formation of SHIELD – and I don’t necessarily believe that will hold – the name or codename SHIELD will definitely be mentioned or bandied about. This would also serve as a not-so-subtle nod to Marvel‘s other television property, Agents of SHIELD.
