AMC has announced it has given the go ahead for two full seasons of The Walking Dead spin-off series.
If you ever wanted to know what was happening outside of the greater Georgia region during the events of The Walking Dead, you’ll have two seasons to find out. AMC has announced it has giving the greenlight to the series that is set in Los Angeles during the events of the main show.
“We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president. “From the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse, and what it looked like as the world really did turn. Through this new series, we’re going to find out.”
While two seasons sounds like a great idea, the first season is only six episodes long and kicks off this summer. Those who know I love me long seasons know I’m not super thrilled about this portion of the announcement, but I guess six episodes is better than no episodes. The second season is expected to arrive in 2016.
