Don’t miss the two new NSFW Birdman clips

Zach WoolfBy Zach WoolfOctober 11, 20142 Mins Read

Birdman starring the likes of Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, and Edward Norton seems worth watching just based off those involved. But, now we can get a better look at the dark nature of the film the two NSFW clips released today.

    BIRDMAN: “Coffee”

Riggan (Michael Keaton) and Mike (Edward Norton) heatedly discuss the merits of theater vs. Hollywood while in search of a late-night cup of coffee in Alejan…

    BIRDMAN: “Does She Talk”

Edward Norton and Emma Stone spar off in this wild scene from Alejandro González Iñárritu’s black comedy BIRDMAN!Tickets are now available for our opening we…

First part of these clips that stand out to me is the use of long takes, as the camera follows the actors through the scene letting them play the action at in one fluid motion. Also, the jazzy drums back both clips give this film a sound that we certainly haven’t heard in a film that features a superhero.

Could Birdman be a film that changes the idea of superhero films just like many comic series have done in their own medium? Certainly only time will tell, but I can’t imagine Marvel or Warner Bros taking cues from a film that debuted at film festivals instead of millions in the box office, no matter how great the film is.

Birdman has been receiving great reviews in praise as it plays its way through the film festival circuit and will look to continue the positive talk when it releases into select theaters on October 17th. Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis and Amy Ryan also star in the Alejandro González Iñárritu directed film.
