Paramount has announced that Steven Knight has been tapped to write the sequel to the popular zombie flick, World War Z.
According to Variety, Brad Pitt will return, and J.A. Bayona will direct. It is interesting that Max Brooks doesn’t appear to be working on the sequel, though that may change as the movie moves closer to production. With a new director and writer on board, the story is being kept under wraps (perhaps until it is actually written), and there is no word on when the movie might arrive in theaters.
For those who didn’t think the first movie did well in theaters, World War Z earned $540 million worldwide on an estimated $190 million budget.
