Agent Carter gets picked up and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is renewed

Zach WoolfBy Zach WoolfMay 9, 20143 Comments2 Mins Read

You can expect more Marvel on your TV set next Fall as ABC has officially decided to pick up Agent Carter for a season and will be giving a second season to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

After seeing the character appear in both Captain America  movies and the Agent Carter One-Shot, fans will be able to see Hayley Atwell reprise the role of Peggy Carter. The television show will take place in 1946 and will follow Agent Carter after the lose of Captain America as she goes on secret missions for Howard Stark. There has yet to be word on wether Domonic Cooper will be returning to the role of Stark, but I do hope that he will return as I thought both characters worked well together on screen.

Other big news was that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be returning for a second season on ABC. This renewal is especially surprising for those that watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier (me) but never kept up with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (also me) due to how the Captain America sequel ended.

The manner in which the television show and the latest Marvel film come together to tell a larger story is an idea that seemed to pay off well for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I can imagine it will again next season after Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron release.

Are you excited for more Marvel on your television screen? Have ideas on what you would like to see from either show? Give your answers to those and more in the comments below!

Really glad to hear this about S.H.E.I.L.D.! It just has kept getting better and better! I was keeping my fingers crossed! I know people are down on it, but I quite enjoy it!

I’ve really hated the direction. I haven’t even watched the last few. Too much drama that feels like it was tacked on instead of adding in more action.
