According to Variety, a third Wolverine movie may be in the works.
In the article, Variety reports that 20th Century Fox is in talks with director James Mangold to take control of another Wolverine movie.
Mangold is in negotiations to write the treatment for the film with Lauren Shuler Donner producing. Mangold directed this year’s “The Wolverine,” which became the second-highest grossing movie in the “X-Men” franchise on the back of a strong performance overseas.
I still haven’t seen the first movie, and am on the fence with The Wolverine, which makes me wonder how well another Wolverine film will be received.

How about not. I’m excited for Days of Future Past, but really we don’t need any more Wolverine movies right now.
It makes sense. Hugh Jackman’s not getting any younger. I’m guessing Fox wants to keep the Wolverine franchise going before he ages out. (Maybe we’ll get an Old Man Logan out of the it).
I was thinking the same thing. Hackman is an impressive guy, but he will age out eventually.
Dunno why that got autocorrected. Jackman.
Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are in their 70s, aren’t they?
Neither of those characters are built around not ageing / being nearly immortal.
Or even more importantly, being muscular action guys.
But, it proves that the producers are willing to go to great lengths to keep their casting choices, even digitally altering the faces to play their younger selves.
Personally, I would be happy if I finally got a Wolverine movie that was just solidly good. I like Jackman as Wolverine, but there has always been something wrong with every Wolverine solo movie so far.
We will never see it because of conflicting companies, but a WWII film with Captain America and Wolverine would be sweet
Agreed.
