    MOVIES: Ant-Man Release Moved Up

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherSeptember 10, 20137 Comments1 Min Read

Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Studios have announced that it is moving the release date of Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man movie.

The studio has decided to move Ant-Man from November 06, 2015 to July 31, 2015, which moves it from the pre-holiday schedule to the summer movie schedule. This may be a good sign for the movie as the studios may now view it as more valuable.

Ant-Man kicks off Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

How much Nerd Rage would there be if Ashton Kutcher is cast as Hank Pym?

      • Pearce on September 11, 2013 1:45 am

I hope they do this, because I’m a nerd rage vampire and I need to feed.

Hey, you know Ant-Man? Sure, everybody does. That’s why it would do well smack dab in the middle of the BIGGEST MOVIE SUMMER EVER, with Star Wars, Batman/Superman, Avengers 2, Terminator, Independence Day, etc.

      • Mike Estep on September 11, 2013 8:01 am

So I am confused by why you bring up Terminator and Independence day? Yes they were big summer movies but that will have been 30, and 20 year ago by that point.

Starwars if you are refering to the new one doesn’t have a cast at this point much less a release date

      • Mike Estep on September 11, 2013 8:10 am

Ok so after some more coffee I feel like an complete fool. Are you saying there are new Independence day and Terminator movies? If this is so I am surprised and kinda disappointed because I would have hopped for something more interesting than that

        • jhealen on September 11, 2013 8:25 am

I knew about the Independence Day sequel, but this is the first I’ve heard of a Terminator sequel or reboot other than rumors. Didn’t know that Independence Day had a release year – cause releasing outside the July 4th week would be moronic.

    3. jhealen on September 11, 2013 8:30 am

Just checked, Avengers 2 gets May 4th? What the hell Disney! You have the perfect day for Star Wars to be released and you don’t use it?

But that makes Marvel bookend the summer, so if they’re smart tease Ant-Man somehow with Avengers 2. Is Joss pulling a Abrams in saying that Pym has nothing to do with Ultron?
