Major Spoilers Poll of the Week: Muscle bound and oiled up edition

    Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherAugust 6, 2013Updated:August 6, 201330 Comments1 Min Read

Occasionally we like to throw two fictional characters into the Major Spoilers Pit and let them fight it out in a no holds barred battle of wits and fisticuffs to see who will climb out victorious.  Today, we do it again with two muscle bound characters who are sure to bring the crowd to their feet.

In the far corner (of the round pit) stands He-Man of Eternia, who raises his mighty sword and claims “By the Power of Grayskull! I have the power!”

And in the other corner stands the barbarian from Cimmeria – CONAN!

    FIGHT!

      uhhhhh……out of conan and conan?

      • Stephen Schleicher on August 6, 2013 11:45 am

        Fixed

        • mrmonkey on August 6, 2013 12:20 pm

          thank you kindly

    2. Dave on August 6, 2013 11:42 am

      I voted… Conan.

      What’s the difference?

Is there an option to choose Conan O’brien?

    3. Matt Goins (@mbgoins) on August 6, 2013 11:44 am

Not knowing enough Conan lore outside of the Arnold movies – I picked him because he seems like he has lived a life of combat, tactics, leadership, and trials.

    4. Russell Catt (@russell_catt) on August 6, 2013 12:11 pm

This is a tough one this week. I loved He-Man as a child and loved Conan as a teenager.
I think that He-Man’s magic-infused strength and endurance can eventually win the day against Conan’s guile and ruthlessness.

    5. mrmonkey on August 6, 2013 12:21 pm

I like Conan better, but I have to go with He-Man. He-Man has magic on his side, not to mention Cringer.

    6. stonegargoyle on August 6, 2013 12:31 pm

I give it to Conan. He-Man might have magic but he never truly hurts anyone if he can help it, and that hesitation gives Conan the edge.

    7. Ricco on August 6, 2013 12:48 pm

Conan, he kills people and while He-Man has magical streinght and endurance Conan is as strong as the plot needs him to be.

    8. ClubberLang6 on August 6, 2013 12:50 pm

He-Man all the way, provided Orko doesn’t get in the way with his shenanigans!

    9. Kevin Kortekaas on August 6, 2013 1:15 pm

How is this even a question, of course Conan would win, he’s CONAN!

    10. Verse on August 6, 2013 2:30 pm

Conan would do what needas to be done. Thus he would win. Unless we count the Master’s of the Universe movie. If we do then the correct answer is neither. It would be Dolph Lundgren.

    11. Alisha Mynx on August 6, 2013 2:32 pm

The only reason I voted He-Man is because he has magic on his side. But if we stripped his magical aspect, it would definitely be Conan.

    12. Fred on August 6, 2013 3:52 pm

While i prefer by far the cimmerian, he-man does have a greater magic infused strength, so while Conan would probably fight better, he-man could slam him with a building or a huge rock, cimmerians are tough but not that tough…

    13. Goofball814 on August 6, 2013 3:56 pm

I love, LOVE. L O V E Heman and the MOTU, but this isn’t even close. Conan mops the floor with Heman. Conan was born on the battlefield, is a battlefield technician, and knows nothing but war (and womanizing).

    14. foolsmask on August 6, 2013 4:12 pm

I vote Conan. I have love for He-Man, but he isn’t ruthless enough. He would see a similarity between himself and Conan and try to make friends, only to have Conan take him out when he wasn’t looking.

    15. Allen on August 6, 2013 4:13 pm

Conan, he fights dirty! Plus He-Man would probably look like a sorcerer to Conan hates sorcerers!

    16. Vistapa+ on August 6, 2013 4:31 pm

The thing about Conanis that he’s the Batman of Cimeria he’s been a pirate, mercenarie, soldier, king, ninja.., so just like batman, he can be anything the plot need him to be, so he can beat his enemies.

    17. Slappy on August 6, 2013 4:31 pm

All of the lad and Lasses who voted for Conan, YOU ARE WRONG AS WRONG CAN BE, but you are entitled to your poor uninformed opinion.
He-Man will win. He-Man WILL KILL. I read it in one of the mini-comics that came with the original figures. He does have advanced combat tactics, proficiency in multiple weapons, magical, futuristic and barbaric. He-Man can go blow by blow with Superman before his de-powering in the 80’s. He is the MOST POWERFUL MAN in the UNIVERSE for a reason.
He can do everything Conan can except for the late night monologue.
I prefer Conan as a character, but in a fight, there is no contest.

      • Mark Harris on August 6, 2013 6:41 pm

I think the Filmation show knocked the mini comics out of canon, unfortunately. The He-Man who built a house by punching a mountain would totally beat Conan. The He-Man from the cartoon, not so much.

    18. Dino on August 6, 2013 5:12 pm

Remember that one time He-Man threw a frickin’ moon. Answer’s kinda easy.

    19. Sean Wade on August 6, 2013 5:46 pm

Conan. Conan has fought many wannabe Gods and Demons with super strenght. He’s beaten all of them. Plus he’s a force of nature. I love me some He-Man, but I can’t see how he wouldn’t be in over his head against the Cimmerian

    20. Jason Inman on August 6, 2013 6:29 pm

Conan would decimate that weak blondie! Then probably burn Eternia to the ground.

    21. neckbeard on August 6, 2013 7:20 pm

He-Man all the way! He’s a great warrior and I’m sure his allies would say he’s a great friend. Conan: a great warrior sure; a great friend not so much.

    22. Sean on August 6, 2013 7:29 pm

    23. Blue Yonder on August 6, 2013 7:38 pm

Conan. He-Man has generally only been a prince, but Conan has been a thief, a pirate, a king and a warrior just to name a few. Conan’s much more versatile and will probably out-smart He-Man in a straight-up fight.

    24. Greg on August 7, 2013 11:13 am

He-Man is a bottomless pit of strenghth and endurance, regardless of Conan’s experience and ruthlessness,I doubt he can land a punch that could even hurt He-Man. Not to mention the power sword would probably shatter any man made weapon.

    25. Ken on August 7, 2013 12:32 pm

Conan would handle He-Man quickly and then make a move on the Sorceress while becoming ruler of Eternia.

    26. aerohalen1 on August 7, 2013 4:18 pm

one is the most powerful man in the universe, one is just a man.maybe if it was between prince adam and conan i would pick conan…but it isnt.

    27. Gatologic (@Gatologic) on August 8, 2013 8:26 pm

I picked Conan because he was real and He – Man is stupid and fake.
