Space Seed is one of the more important episodes of Star Trek: TOS, as it set up everything viewers needed to know in Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn. Diamond Select Toys has a new 7-inch line of action figures based on The Original Series that will have you scrambling for your wallet.
Mr. Spock is captured as he appears in the classic episode “Devil in the Dark,” with a cave diorama and a Horta alien — the first Horta toy ever made! Spock himself will have interchangeable legs for standing or crouching poses, and interchangeable hands to hold a phaser or tricorder or establish a mental link with the Horta. He even comes with an alternate grimacing head!
The second Star Trek Select figure, Captain Kirk, comes with anengineering room diorama base, a second set of hands, a broken phaserand a control rod, as well as a second set of legs so he can deliver aflying kick to the reeling figure of Khan himself! That’s right, thisfigure is based on the episode “Space Seed,” and re-creates the firstbattle between the longtime foes.
I don’t believe we’ve seen the Kahn figure before in the Select figure line, so Kirk set is well worth picking up.
