Stephen’s favorite Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight made its return digitally in 2012 and due to the title’s success DC has decided to launch a similar Superman title this spring. View the long list of creators attached to the series after the jump.
Hitting comiXology’s digital shelves April 29, 2013 will be the weekly adventures of the Man of Steel inside the Adventures of Superman. No story details have been shared but a large list of creators attached to the project has been released. The first issue will come from Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston with art by Chris Sprouse and Karl Story with the follow done by Jeff Parker and Chris Samnee. The rest of the creators you can expect to see on Adventures of Superman are: Dan Abnett, Ed Benes, Mitch Breitweiser, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Nathan Edmondson, Joshua Hale Fialkov, Christos Gage, Marc Guggenheim, Justin Jordan, Matt Kindt, JT Krul, Max Landis, Andy Lanning, David Lapham, Jeff Lemire, Michael Avon Oeming, Riley Rossmo, Stephen Segovia, Bruce Timm, Marcus To, and Marv Wolfman.
Even though some of their moves on monthly titles have been questionable their decisions regarding their growing list of weekly digital releases have been a bright point for DC. For a complete story with a small price tag of 99 cents, Aventures of Superman presents a low risk investment that I will be sure to pick up when it releases.
