As the release date for Guardians of the Galaxy draws ever near, Marvel Studios has been fast at work finding actors to fill the various roles. Rumors have flown regarding Jim Carey and Adam Sandler, but we finally have official word that Chris Pratt will play Peter Quill.
Star-Lord (Peter Quill) is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan, the character first appeared in Marvel Preview #4 (Jan. 1976). The son of a human mother and alien father, Quill assumes the mantle of Star-Lord, an interplanetary policeman.
The character played a role in the crossover comic book events Annihilation (2006) and Annihilation: Conquest (2007), and became the leader of the space-based superhero team Guardians of the Galaxy in the 2008 relaunch of the eponymous comic. He has been featured in a variety of associated Marvel merchandise, including animated television series, toys, and trading cards.
Pratt, who played the hero in Zero Dark Thirty, will head off into space to… Guard… the… Galaxy…
Guardians of the Galaxy arrives in theaters on August 1, 2014.

Hmm…. I actually like this pick. Quill is a superhero who always seems in over his head… I could see this guy pulling that off.
Why not cast the rest of Parks and Rec as the rest?
Nick Offerman as the voice of Groot
Aziz Anazari as the voice of Rocket Raccoon
Aubry Plaza as Gamora
Adam Scott as Drax
Okay, it kinda falls apart there at the end.
