As the Mass Effect movie moves from fan dream to reality, one thing that is going to make or break the motion picture adaptation is the story, and Legendary Entertainment thinks they have found a writer.
According to a variety of different news outlets, Morgan Davis Foehl has been hired to write the sci-fi tale. Foehl has yet to have one of his scripts produced, which could cause some people to be concerned, especially since his most recent credits appear to include being an assistant editor on Rescue Me and the Adam Sandler “comedy” I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. On the plus side, H’wood has a Black List of great scripts and scriptwriters who haven’t been produced, and Foehl did make the 2009 list.
First game takes place in 2183 and revolves around a human space commander who leads a team on a mission to defeat an ancient race of mechanized aliens that invade the galaxy every 50,000 years, wiping out all forms of organic life.
Should make for an interesting movie, and you can bet there will be a lot of special effects and big explosions to cover any plot hole.
