Universal Studios is finally moving ahead with the rumored God of War adaptation, and they’ve found a couple of writers to rework the script the studio has had sitting around in its vault.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has hired Pacific Rim writers, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to do the rewrites for God of War, a movie adaptation of the popular video game series from Sony Entertainment.
released in March 2005, the game followed the battles of the Spartan warrior Kratos, who squares off against mythological beasts including Medusa, Cyclops and the Hydra in his quest to find Pandora’s Box and destroy Ares, the god of war.
David Self is executive producing the movie, and wrote the initial draft. What’s nice about this bit of news is Self recognizes the need to rework the script instead of forcing his draft into production.

long as Uwe Boll has nothing to do with it I’m good.
