MOVIES: Television classic Mr. Peabody and Sherman headed to the big screen

The first image of Dreamworks take on Mr. Peabody and Sherman has arrived, and the studio is taking the science dog and his boy to the next level – 3D.

Based on Jay Ward’s classic cartoon, Mr. Peabody is the world’s smartest person who happens to be a dog. When his “pet” boy Sherman uses their time traveling WABAC machine without permission, events in history spiral out of control. It’s up to this most unexpected of “father-son” teams to somehow put things back on track before the space-time continuum is irreparably destroyed.

Ty Burrell plays Mr. Peabody, while Dreamworks has tapped Max Charles to play his boy, Sherman.  Mr. Peabody and Sherman is scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 14, 2014.

Well so far at least it doesn’t seem to be part-live action, part- CGI animated. Might give this a shot, though I fear a trailer with a plethora of soon-to-be-irrelvenat pop culture references.

I wonder if they’ll have breaks in the story like Commander McBragg or Go GO Gophers? Gotta be better than the live action crapfest a few years ago.

Well hopefully better than the live action Underdog, Dudley Do Right, and as Boris and Natasha would say “Veve hav to get Moose and Squirrel’ in a very bad Russian accent…………
