Looks like Sharon and Ryan Liebowitz are looking to get out of the comic business and are selling the iconic Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles. According to the eBay listing, Sharon is nearing retirement, and Ryan is simply not passionate about being a comic book retailer.
If you decide to buy Golden Apple Comics, you’re going to need $679,000.00, an escrow company, and the ability to make the store a success.

holy crap man… I was there when that store opened. Wow, so many memories.
Yeah, it was a great store. Some years back they moved from their iconic location on the west side of Melrose further east, and the new location was a shadow of the former location. I never went to their San Fernando Valley store. Had many great memories from them, had some comics and statues signed by Neil Gaiman there, a real fine gentleman.
Too bad to see it go.
Too bad…but I am NOT surprised. As a former employee att the store, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bill’s passing several years back. When I found out his son was taking over, I knew something like this would happen. He has run it into the ground. Shame.
