Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Nerdtacular 2011 is just around the corner, and once again Major Spoilers is a proud sponsor of the event that brings like minded fans of fun together for one big event.
Nerdtacular started in 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah as a way to celebrate the local Extralife / Frogpants Studios community, renting out a movie theater and watching a nerdy blockbuster together.
While Nerdtacular has grown more and more each year, and nearly just as many people come from outside of Utah that come from wihtin, the core purpose remains the same: Good fun with good friends.
Major Spoilers has been a proud sponsor of Nerdtacular since 2008, and we are happy to team up with Scott Johnson again! This year looks to be bigger and better than ever, so take the jump for the schedule, and then buy your tickets for the June 17, 2011 event, and meet a lot of great people!
WHEN:
June 17th, 2011, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This year will be VERY different than years past. We are renting out conference space for an entire day, and filling it with panels, talks, and prizes to name just few things. More details coming soon! Everyone will receive a swag-bag filled with all sorts of goodies. While some of this might shuffle or change slightly before the big day in June, for the most part, it is looking pretty solid. Here’s a quick breakdown so far.
- 8:00 am – 9:00 am: Badge and Swag Bag Pickup
- 9:00 am – 9:30 am: Welcome to N’11, with Scott
- 9:30 am – 11:00 am: Frogpants Podcaster/Producers Panel (FPPP for short)
- 11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Nerdtacular’s Musically Challenged: The game show
- 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm: Lunch and mingle
- 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm: Vidja Games Panel (Industry Experts meet Frogpants)
- 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Film Sack **LIVE**
- 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: Prizeocalypse
- 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: Mingle
Going to be a lot of fun. Most of the Critical Hit crew will be there this year except for Matthew, who plays Torq. He’s got to work that day, which only reinforces that recurring donation thing we have going.

You know what would be really cool? MS/CH hosting a D&D oneshot scenario for attendees as part of the events. If Stephen, Rodrigo, Rob, and Brian (and possibly Alex) are going to be there then ideally each could DM a session. You could test the waters by offering a chance to sign up on the MS website. I’m imagining that Rodrigo could draw up a one to two hour session in the world of the Celestial Campaign, brief you all on the particulars of the encounters and then each of you could DM for 3 to 4 players. I’m gonna be at N11 and I would be more than willing to pay for the opportunity to take a seat at the table.
