There are a few all-ages/kids books that we really like at Major Spoilers. One of them is The New Brighton Archeological Society by Mark Andrew Smith. It’s been a while since the first book was released, and we’ve been wondering if we would see a followup to the series. Looks like we will, as soon as Smith raises enough money for the coloring and lettering costs.
To do this, Smith is using Kickstarter, an online fund raising site (probably better than asking for donations each and every week on a podcast…), which uses an all or nothing funding process, where those who decide to donate/fund a project are only charged when the project reaches its full goal amount. For New Brighton Archeological Society Book Two, Smith needs $8,000, and has already raised just over $5,000.
Kickstarter has become a great way for people to test and see projects to completion, and looks like it is working. Check out the New Brighton Archeological Society Kickstarter page here, if you want to donate to the cause.
