The announcement that Archie Comics was introducing a gay character to the world of Riverdale, caused a number of people to get all twisted in a knot, while others jumped up and down, and hailed Kevin as a great move forward. Kevin Keller has been popular enough in his few appearances in the comics (Veronica #202 sold out immediately), that Archie Comics has decided to give him his own four-issue mini-series.
“Kevin Keller has become larger than life! We are bringing him back with all the bells and whistles,” stated Archie Comics Co-CEO Jon Goldwater.
The mini-series kicks off in 2011, and will develop Kevin’s character and how he fits in with the rest of the gang at Riverdale. According to the company, if the mini does well, Kevin may get his own ongoing series.

Wow, I’m really happy to see this. Hopefully, they can expand on the character and actually involve some introspection into gay culture.
Here’s my examination of Veronica #202, calling the comic “an Assimilationist Archie”
